VMware Virtualization Engineer
About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Design, deploy, and manage VMware virtualization infrastructure including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi hosts • Configure and maintain vROPS, vRO, vRLI, and vRLCM for monitoring and lifecycle management • Manage VMware Tools, VMX configuration, and CBT (Changed Block Tracking) settings • Handle VIB package installation, upgrades, and patch management • Configure datastores and perform VM storage migrations • Implement and manage HA, DRS, and Affinity/Anti-Affinity cluster configurations • Troubleshoot virtualization issues and ensure optimal performance • Collaborate with network and storage teams for integrated solutions • Document infrastructure configurations and maintain technical knowledge base • Provide L2/L3 support for virtualization-related incidents
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field • 5-10 years of experience in VMware virtualization • VMware stack expertise: vSphere, vCenter, vROPS, vRO, vRLI, vRLCM • Hands-on experience with VMware Tools, VMX configuration, CBT • Proficiency in VIB package installation and management • Strong knowledge of datastore configuration and VM storage migration • Understanding of network and storage in virtualized environments • VMware certification preferred (VCP / VCAP / VCI) • Effective collaborator across technical and non-technical teams • Experience with HA, DRS, Affinity/Anti-Affinity cluster configuration and management
