Software Systems Engineer – DevOps

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a Software Systems Engineer – DevOps to join its Datacenter Networking team in Bengaluru. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for recent graduates and early-career professionals passionate about cloud-native software development, distributed systems, and DevOps practices. The role involves designing, developing, testing, debugging, and enhancing software solutions while working alongside experienced engineers. Candidates will gain hands-on exposure to automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and modern DevOps technologies. • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for new and existing products. 
• Contribute to cloud-native software and distributed systems development. 
• Develop software enhancements under the guidance of senior engineers. 
• Build and maintain networking, database, utility, and internet-related software components. 
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code. 
• Develop automated test cases and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines. 
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning sessions. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver product features. 
• Support software deployment, monitoring, and observability initiatives. 
• Learn and contribute to automation frameworks using AI-powered tools and modern DevOps practices. 
• Gain expertise in cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and large-scale distributed environments.

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or a related discipline. 

Experience Required

• 0–2 years of hands-on experience, including internships, co-ops, or academic projects. 

Technical Skills

• Programming experience in Python, Golang, Java, C, or C++. 
• Understanding of cloud-native software development and distributed systems. 
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). 
• Exposure to Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMware, or KVM. 
• Familiarity with Docker, Cassandra, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, or Grafana. 
• Experience with Ansible, Helm, Terraform, or similar automation tools. 
• Understanding of REST and gRPC APIs. 
• Ability to develop automated test cases and work with CI/CD pipelines. 
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring concepts.
