Responsibilities
  • Analyze, understand, and document the architecture and functionality of legacy Java applications.
  • Design and implement strategies to migrate legacy systems to modern Java-based architectures.
  • Refactor existing code to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability while preserving functionality.
  • Develop and maintain integration solutions between internal and external systems using Java and related technologies.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure system reliability post-migration.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Utilize best practices for coding standards, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across environments.
  • Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Minimum & preferred qualifications
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in Java (preferably Java 8 and above).
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with legacy Java frameworks (e.g., Struts, Spring MVC, Hibernate) and transitioning to modern stacks (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data).
  • Experience with refactoring large monolithic applications to microservices is a plus.
  • Proven expertise in writing unit tests and integration tests using JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and integration patterns.
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
  • Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., JMS, Kafka) is a plus.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
